Originally part of the 2025 Take One capsule, this piece reimagines a 320 gsm screen-printed stonewashed sweatpant into a distressed waistband skirt. Hand-stitched and hand oil-painted, it transforms the original garment into a study of texture, form, and artistic defiance. Each skirt is unique, carrying visible evidence of the designer’s hand.
The Take One capsule reflects on the many faces of anxiety—the silent battles, restless nights, and the false promises of prescription pills that poison under the guise of cure. By translating this narrative into clothing, the skirt becomes a wearable anti-Big Pharma manifesto, a commentary on the cycles of dependency reinforced by gambling apps, pharmaceuticals, and media normalization. Inspired by the bold energy of the Futurist movement, each mark and hand-applied detail conveys raw resistance, turning art into a dose of personal and social reflection.
