This garment exists as an original test print and first sample from the 2023 Sideeffexxx collection, documenting a pivotal and often overlooked convergence in music history. The print features a legendary photograph of Kurt Cobain holding a medical bottle of cough syrup, capturing a quiet but influential moment in the evolution of sound across genres.

According to the band, Cobain mixed Nirvana’s first album while consuming medicinal codeine—a detail that resonated within an era defined by emotional distortion and raw output. At the same time, rap culture was forming its own relationship with medical cough syrup—known as lean—using it to shape rhythm, tone, and atmosphere. This shared substance created an unspoken bridge between genres, resulting in a convergence of sensibility and sound.

Constructed from 100% cotton, the piece features a digitally printed original test pattern applied to the Kurdt Asymmetrical Shirt silhouette. The lower portion transitions into a pleated, open-leg skirt, finished with a double-button waistband closure that allows for adjustability. The asymmetrical low-waist construction is intentional, shifting balance and proportion while maintaining fluid movement.
