This piece documents what the designers consider one of television’s earliest and most influential live broadcast shock moments - Ozzy Osbourne biting the head off a live bat on stage in Des Moines, Iowa. Pulled from the 2023 Sideeffexxx collection, this garment exists as a first production sample, capturing the raw intent before refinement or correction.
The upper is a 100% cotton asymmetrical shirt, digitally printed with an Ozzy Osbourne thermal-style graphic referencing the broadcast imagery. The print is intentionally unpolished, preserving the distortion and immediacy of live television rather than a cleaned archival still.
The lower construction integrates 100% cotton denim, cut and reworked with an open seam cotton canvas panel taken from artist and designer KUJ’s “study” canvas - left exposed to show process, gesture, and hand. The piece is finished with a pinched, adjustable waistband, YKK zipper, and custom Bond shank buttons. An enzyme wash softens the garment and subtly breaks down the surface, while an open back slit introduces movement and instability into the silhouette.
