The print, from the 2023 Sideeffexxx collection, features a legendary photo of Kurt Cobain holding a medical bottle of cough syrup. According to the band, Cobain mixed Nirvana’s first album while consuming medicinal codeine—an influence that resonated with raw emotion. Simultaneously, rap culture utilized lean (a cough syrup and soda mixture) to shape sound and mood. This convergence across genres is preserved in the garment, making it a critical study of music history rendered in fabric.
